Boy, I just can't stop learning.

There are a couple of setbacks, but nothing that's going to stop you from receiving your comic forever.

We had a quality control issue with the minis in the US. Our distributor was able to find someone to clean up the supports, so it ended up just being a minor setback. This issue only affects unpainted Mara minis in the US and unpainted Amaruq minis. If you are not in the US and receive an unpainted Amaruq mini, please contact us, as we didn't see it before it went out and need to know about the quality.

The lesson here is to not send anything out without personally checking it. We just got lucky that Inked has our back for distribution and actually checked.

Speaking of Inked, our main contact was ill, which delayed the distribution. He's getting back to work though, which means things should go out soon. We're going to have a voice meeting this coming week and buy shipping labels.

The silver lining here is that you have one last chance to change your address. However, it's no longer possible to do that in backerkit. Please message us here and we'll manually change your address before buying the shipping labels.

Touchdown

Finally, the boxes have arrived in America and are with our US distributor. I'm never using this shipping method again - Europe and Australia have had their comics for months. We expect to send to individual backers shortly - we just need to sort, label, and ship. While you wait, have a new page from the upcoming issue 2.

If you like what you see, keep an eye out for the next campaign in a future update. We'll be setting up a landing page to follow in the near future and launching after issue 2 is complete (with PDFs in backers hands).

Issue #2 progress and North American shipping update

Greetings, backers! I'm never quite sure how often to post updates, so I appreciate the requests. We're hard at work on issue #2, and expect to be able to fulfill that stretch goal in Q1 of 2023. Here are some of the in progress pages:

Now for the print issues! They've already departed Taiwan and are en route to the US port. We expect this to not arrive before Christmas, as they're still on the sea now.

For future Kickstarters, we're working with our US distributor to setup a better supply line. Once again, I apologize for not knowing what I was doing in my first campaign and causing delays. I thought I knew, but now I actually do, and see many ways I could have done better. That being said, if issue #2 is completed before the comics arrive in North America, we will not be starting a new campaign before people have their hands on their rewards. I've backed campaigns where the creator started a new project before sending out rewards, so I know first hand it doesn't feel good. Thank you for all your patience as I bumble my way through my first project.

It's finally ready to go.

Thank you all for your patience as I slowly figure out how everything works. While not all of the delays were my fault, most of them were. Not knowing how to do things in advance (that I thought I knew) is definitely on me. Being sick didn't help, of course.

But today, they're leaving for the states, and now we just have to wait for shipping. The next Kickstarter will be better for this learning experience, which is good, because it's not that far off. We're looking at having issue 2 complete in Q1 of next year.

What's the hold up?

Greetings, friends. Dylan here. At this point, all of the rewards for non North American backers have gone out, and several of you have already received your comic. It's been great seeing the photos people have put up on Twitter showing off their stuff.

I wanted to have the North American backers' rewards sent to the distributor by now. Most of it is already packed. But we have two young children in the house - a three year old and an eight month old - and the older one brought home a nasty bug. All we know for sure is that it's not Covid, and it's something that's been going around Taipei. It shut me down for the better part of two weeks. 

I'm starting to get my legs back under me, and I'm hoping to finish up this coming week. You want your rewards, and as much as I love the comic, I want all these boxes out of my home. Thank you for your continued patience, and of course, for backing in the first place!
